P2P Young Peoples Charter

P2P is fully committed to Equal Opportunities for all young people and
potential mentees. You are entitled to be treated as an individual and for
your individual needs to be recognised. This charter sets out what you can
expect of us and what we will expect from you.

Before you become a member/mentee at P2P, you can expect:

Bullet-point To receive timely and accurate information about activities available to
you at P2P.

Bullet-point To receive impartial advice and guidance in choosing activities that is
appropriate to your needs, goals and existing skills & abilities.

Bullet-point To be made aware of your responsibilities as a member/mentee.

Bullet-point Access to a named mentor to support you through your personal and social
development.

Bullet-point Mentor support in preparing a Goal Action Plan that sets out clear
targets for what you need to do to achieve what you are aiming for and to
review your progress regularly.

 

Throughout your time with P2P, you can expect :

Bullet-point To participate in activities in a safe, secure and adequately resourced
environment.

Bullet-point To be treated with courtesy and respect.

Bullet-point Activities that start and end on time and information about any
unavoidable changes.

Bullet-point Assessments of your mentoring relationship that are issued regularly,
assessed fairly and returned with comments that help you and your mentor
improve your progress.

Bullet-point Access to a range of advice and support services, including: learning
support, confidential welfare advice, career planning, drugs misuse support
& guidance.

Bullet-point Pathways 2 Progress Membership

Bullet-point Opportunities to take part in social and cultural enrichment activities.

 

When you complete your mentoring relationship, you can expect :

Bullet-point

The opportunity to discuss progression to further education, training or
employment.

Bullet-point A record of your achievements while you were being mentored.

Bullet-point A reference to support your applications for further education, training
or employment up to two years after you have left the P2P.

. . . .and what do we expect of you ? Please:
Bullet-point

Show courtesy and consideration towards other young people and staff at
all times.

Bullet-point Attend activities regularly and punctually.

Bullet-point Meet the deadlines set for mentoring task or goals.

Bullet-point Accept and follow the P2P Code of Conduct.

Bullet-point Follow P2P Complaints Procedure if you are unhappy with any aspect of
your mentoring relationship or any services offered by P2P.

Bullet-point Act responsibly at all times with due regard for your own safety and the
safety of others.
