Community Mentor's Role Description & Outline
P2P Staff and volunteer Community Mentors provide an intervention and support service to the young people referred. Our team use behavioural training programmes and techniques as well as life experiences to address negative attitudes and develop the willingness in young people to take responsibility for their own self-determination. Our mentors both staff and volunteers are self-motivated, honest, non-judgemental and committed. They also have excellent communication and listening skills. They are able to motivate young people and be a positive example of progressive achievement. Our mentors must complete necessary training including and not limited to: mentor training, safe guarding children, safe guarding vulnerable adults, risk assessment as well as complete an enhanced criminal records check.
Our Team primarily work unsociable hours and weekends our dedicated standard office days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
